It was suggested a few weeks ago, it is now official: a GP of Portugal, on November 22 at the Algarve circuit, in Portimão, has been added to the calendar of the 2020 world championship. If Portugal has already hosted several GPs in Estoril, near Lisbon, this is the first time that Portimão will host the best drivers in the world.

Patron of the circuit, Paulo Pinheiro hopes to be able to welcome spectators: “Our goal is to open the event to 30,000 fans.” Remember that the next two GPs to come, in Austria (Sunday and the next), will still take place behind closed doors and it is not yet known whether the Misano races, in mid-September, will be open to the public.
