The ex-Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho was on Friday at the gates of regaining his freedom in Paraguay, where he has been serving preventive detention for five months for having used a false content passport to enter the country.

The prosecutors of the case in which the exastro of the Barcelona is involved they asked the judge Gustavo Yellow the “conditional suspension of the procedure” for a period of one year, in which “Dinho” will have to comply with certain obligations, according to a document to which he had access Reuters.

The agents said in the letter that they did not find any “element that proves that Ronaldo of Assis Moreira has had a direct participation in the planning of obtaining irregular documents ”, although they stressed that this did not exempt him from the responsibility for their use.

For this reason, they raised a “balance point” for the procedural exit of the world champion in 2002 with the selection of Brazil, who spent a month in a police station on the outskirts of Assumption and four with house arrest in a hotel in the center of the Paraguayan capital.

If the judge accepts the prosecution’s proposal, Ronaldinho will have to pay 90 thousand dollars for damage repair, set an address in Brazil and appear every three months before the judicial authorities of their country.

Things were not so easy for his brother Roberto, processed in the same case and for whom the prosecutors requested a sentence of two years with a “trial suspension.”

Ronaldinho and Roberto were arrested on March 6, two days after entering the Paraguay to participate in the activities of a foundation. The prosecutor Osmar Legal said to Reuters that the investigation in which they were involved included a money laundering scheme.

Next week, the magistrate must set a hearing to resolve the prosecutors’ proposal and determine if the former player can leave the country.
