A City Hall of São Paulo started this Saturday (1st) to disable the Anhembi field hospital, in the North Zone. Of the 871 beds currently available, 561 will be closed, with 310 remaining in operation (294 for infirmary and sixteen for stabilization)
According to the municipal management, the partial closure measure occurs due to the stabilization of the coronavirus chaos in the city. As a result, the city will stop spending 19 million reais in the next three months, as previously forecast.
Opened on April 11, the space had a capacity for 1,800 people, but it never came close to that. The peak occupancy occurred in May, with 600 patients hospitalized simultaneously. On Friday (31), 127 people were infected under medical care.
