The 134th edition of the Palermo Rural Exposition was finally suspended and rescheduled for 2021 due to the prolongation of the COVID-19 epidemic and the consequent social isolation decreed by the national authorities. It will take place from July 21 to August 1, under the same program and content provided for the original dates.
According to the Argentine Rural Society statement, the decision to modify the date was made, after an exhaustive analysis, in order to rlook at the audience, to technical visitors, exhibitors, organizers and workers in general, in line with the measures being carried out in the country and globally to care for the community as a whole at this difficult time.
The 2020 livestock sample had been initially established for July 22 to August 2 but then they decided to postpone it for the period from October 7 to 18. Now, with a clearer picture regarding the pandemic, they decided to suspend it.
“Although currently the La Rural property has developed protocols that keep strict sanitary measures, following the guidelines of the main organizations, to ensure safe return to activity, the reprogramming of the Exhibition is intended to prioritize the health of the population, under the premise that a fair of such magnitude involves an extensive value chain and requires the minimum time necessary for its organization, “said the statement from the organizing entity.
“We want to express our understanding and our thanks to all the cabañeros, who have been investing in the preparation of their animals, to all the exhibitors: industrial, commercial, service providers and to all those people who year after year contribute to make the Exhibition from Palermo the great sample of the Argentine countryside and agribusiness “, he added.
