Ecuador approaches 100,000 confirmed coronavirus cases

Ecuador has approached 100,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus this Friday by adding more than 1,000 more positives in the last 24 hours, according to the latest balance offered by the Ministry of Health.

MADRID, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)

The agency has confirmed 99,409 infections, with an increase of 1,066 new this Friday, of which a total of 6,030 people have died due to the pandemic.

Likewise, the health authorities have reported that 66,099 patients have recovered after overcoming COVID-19, 13,077 people have been discharged from hospital and more than 138,000 cases have been discarded.

Of the positive cases, 343 people are hospitalized with a reserved prognosis and 912 patients remain stable in the hospital.

So far, Pichincha is the province most affected by the pandemic in Ecuador with 19,851 cases; followed by Guayas, with 18,205 positives; and Manabí, with 7,368.
