DETROIT – Ford has decided to recall more than 558,000 mid-size sport utility vehicles in North America over an issue that could prevent the brakes from functioning properly.
The measure concerns certain Ford Edge from 2015 to 2018 as well as Lincoln MKX from 2016 to 2018.
Ford explained Wednesday that some brake system hoses could rupture, causing leaks. This can, for example, cause it to take a longer distance for the vehicle to come to a stop.
The automaker said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries due to the issue.
The owners concerned will be notified starting the week of September 14th. Dealers will make repairs.
