The road was closed on Sunday evening after being covered by a mudslide caused by heavy rainfall.
The Grimsel Pass road (BE) has been open to traffic again since Tuesday morning. It had been closed Sunday evening after a mudslide.
No new mudslides and rubble occurred overnight from Monday to Tuesday and the precipitation stopped, the Directorate of Public Works and Transport of the Canton of Bern said on Tuesday. The danger zone which overhangs the road will be the object of close surveillance until the moment when all danger is eliminated.
Sunday evening, some 250 m3 of mud and stone had covered this axis of communication. No one was injured and no vehicle was damaged.
