Behind the explosion of a fireworks warehouse that was registered this Tuesday in Beirut, Lebanon, he CDMX Seismic Meteorological Observatory carried out an exercise to size the scope of the shock wave, and concluded that if the explosion had occurred in the Tultepec Fireworks Market, indicating that it would have reached the area of the Basilica of Guadalupe and La Raza.

The latest reports from the strong explosion that occurred in the Lebanese capital indicate that this It caused damage up to a distance of 20 km and the explosive wave reached more than 250 km.

With these data, the Observatory carried out a comparative distances on a map that he spread on social networks, where from supposing that If the explosion had happened in the Tultepec Fireworks Market located in the State of Mexico, the 20 kilometer blast wave could have reached the area of the Basilica of Guadalupe and La Raza at the Mayor’s office of Gustavo A. Madero.

However, considering that the damages cover a diametral extension of 20 kilometers, this would imply that colonies and municipalities like, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Tlalnepantla, Tultitlán, Ecatepec, Tecamac, Zumpango de Ocampo and Huehuetoca they would have been affected.

Following the exercise of the CDMX Seismic Meteorological Observatory, but considering the reports that the blast wave was perceived up to 250 km around, that would mean that in the assumption that if the explosion had happened in the Tultepec Pyrotechnics Market, the effects of the wave could have been perceived as far as the town of Cocula, Guerrero.

The comparison of shock wave distances made by the Observatory was disseminated through social networks, where it also answered questions from users.
