Lactantia in Victoriaville locked out its 450 employees on July 16.

The 450 union members of Lactancia de Victoriaville, who still maintain that they were locked out about 3 weeks ago, appeal today to the Ministry of Labor.

Union members affiliated with the Central Democratic Union (CSD) suspect their bosses of using workers illegally to operate its factory in Victoriaville.

This action by workers occurs when they submit a fifth offer to their employer to renew their collective agreement that expired in October 2019.

Salaries, vacation hours and subcontracting are among the issues of this labor dispute.

At the same time, union members continue to deny any accusation of sabotage whatsoever inside the factory.

«The employer said that in the last week, the employees had used pressure tactics by putting things in the cheese and that there was a risk of injuring children. But Lactalis union members would never have done that. We care about our jobs and we also want customers to be satisfied with our products“, Says Louise Bouchard, union representative and employee at Lactantia for 17 years.

At Lactalis, no one has yet been able to respond to union members.
