A forest fire broke out in İzmir’s Balçova district for an unknown reason. While the teams intervened in the flames, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli examined the fire from the air.
A fire broke out near the dam in Balçova district at around 16.53 for an unknown reason. Those who saw the fire reported the situation to the General Directorate of Forestry. Upon the notice, 1 aircraft, 6 helicopters, 1 UAV, 13 sprinklers, 2 dozers, 2 trailers, 7 technical staff and 54 forest workers were dispatched to the region. While the first response to the fire was made on 17.02, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli examined the fire from both the command helicopter and the land. While the teams were responding to the fire, their intensive work was also visualized with the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). As a result of the work done, forest fires were taken under control.
