BRASILIA (Reuters) – The Ministry of Justice has decided to hand over to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Attorney General’s Office an intelligence report prepared by the Intelligence Directorate of the Integrated Operations Secretariat (Seopi), the ministry said on Monday. , in yet another move to try to relieve pressure on Minister André Mendonça.
The decision to deliver the documentation comes two days before the Supreme Court judges the activities of the ministry’s body, which is suspected of having produced dossiers against citizens. Rede Sustentabilidade appealed to the Supreme Court to challenge an alleged internal investigation opened by the ministry on a group of federal and state employees who would be identified with the anti-fascist movement.
In a note, the portfolio said that it had submitted the same documentation to the STF and PGR that had already been handed over to the Joint Commission for the Control of Intelligence Activities of the National Congress (CCAI), and also informed the creation of a working group that will have 60 days to analyze the subject.
“Finally, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security reiterates its commitment to the continuous improvement of the public security intelligence activity as an instrument for the protection and defense of society and the State,” concluded the note.
