A bicycle path recently built at the cost of half a million dollars on Boulevard des Forges, in Trois-Rivières, is far from making the cyclists who use it happy.
This was built between rue Vien and rue Pierriche, a 900-meter stretch, in the Vieilles-Forges sector. It allows cyclists to travel more safely along the busy artery.
To do this, the cycle path was designed to widen the sidewalk. The problem is that it follows the many unevenness of it, because of the driveways to access the neighboring properties.
In addition, during garbage collection, residents move their bin on the bike path, completely blocking access to this new infrastructure. Many therefore choose to walk in the street.
Cimentier Laviolette carried out the work. The company claims to have followed the City’s plans to the letter following the call for tenders.
