Have with a demonstration train thousands of people protested against the corona measures in Berlin on Saturday. The police assumed around 17,000 participants in the afternoon. After she filed a criminal complaint against the organizer for not complying with the hygiene rules, the organizer prematurely ended the protest march towards the Brandenburg Gate. The police said in the afternoon via Twitter.

The police also want to dissolve the rally of opponents of state corona requirements in Berlin in the afternoon. The organizers are unable to comply with the hygiene measures, said a police spokesman. Appropriate measures would be prepared.

The participants in the deomnstration propagated the end of the pandemic, while the numbers continue to rise worldwide: Within one day, 292,000 people worldwide would have been infected, the WHO announced on Friday evening – a new record. And new infections in Germany have recently risen again. According to the Robert Koch Institute, 955 new corona infections were reported within one day.

According to police, the hygiene requirements such as distance and mouth-nose protection were not complied with. The police, however, took action against the organizer with communicative measures such as loudspeaker announcements or individual speeches.

“The biggest conspiracy theory is the corona pandemic”

During the demonstration, location signs and flags from different federal states could be seen. The people made their displeasure about the protective measures against the corona virus with whistles and calls for “freedom” or “resistance”. Slogans such as “The biggest conspiracy theory is the corona pandemic” were also heard.

The organizers had only registered 1000 participants for the first demonstration train. The second rally with 10,000 participants registered started around 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon. According to “Daily mirror” the termination of the protest march has no effect on the rally, which should now also be resolved.

Among other things, the initiative “lateral thinking 711”, which has been demonstrating in Stuttgart for weeks, called for the demonstration. According to the Berlin Senator for the Interior, Andreas Geisel (SPD), various neo-Nazi organizations also called for participation.

The motto of the rally is “The End of the Pandemic – Freedom Day”. A propaganda film by Nazi icon Leni Riefenstahl about the party congress of the NSDAP in 1935 also bears the title “Freedom Day”. The initiative has repeatedly demonstrated in Stuttgart.

“Quite crowded”

The police wrote on the short message service Twitter at noon that the meeting on the street Unter den Linden had “got quite crowded”. The participants were advised of sufficient distances and wearing a mouth and nose cover.

People with mouth-nose protection were called out from the “Masks away” protest. There were no major incidents at first. Police units blocked off the protest march and counter-demonstrators in several places. Counter-demonstrators under the motto “Grandmas against the right” shouted “Nazis out” to the train, the saying echoed back.

There was political incomprehension for the demo. The SPD chair Saskia Esken wrote on Twitter: “Thousands of #covidians celebrate in #Berlin as ‘the second wave’, without a gap, without a mask. They not only endanger our health, they endanger our successes against the pandemic and for the revitalization of the economy, education and society. Irresponsible! “Brandenburg’s CDU parliamentary group leader Jan Redmann wrote on Twitter:” Again 1000 new infections / day, and in Berlin is a demonstration against corona requirements? We can no longer afford this dangerous nonsense. “

An event of the conspiracy theorist also registered for Saturday Attila Hildmann had been prohibited in advance because of the allegation of sedition. It was the second consecutive ban on a Hildmann rally.
