With the help of the Coast Guard and tug boats, the passenger car ferry in the middle of the sea with its hundreds of passengers was approached to a port in Zeytinburnu. A private car passenger ferry called Yener C., which departed from Avşa to Istanbul at 16.00, failed at night, due to an undetermined reason off the Marmara sea. Ferry officers started work to fix the malfunction. Meanwhile, citizens on the ferry reacted to the officers. Hundreds of passengers reported the Coast Guard teams. Arriving at the point where the ferry broke down, the Coast Guard teams received information from both citizens and ferry officers. Tug boats called to the scene berthed the failing ferry to the port in Zeytinburnu. The Coast Guard boat also followed during the berthing of the ferry.
Hundreds of passengers who got off from the ferry berthed at the port expressed their reactions by telling the press members what happened. Some passengers claimed that the captain and crew were alcoholic.
