Security inspections were carried out in 39 districts within the scope of the “Yeditepe Peace of Mind” public order practice in Istanbul.
The “Yeditepe Peace 2020-7” application, coordinated by Istanbul Police Chief Zafer Aktaş, started at 19.00.
The Public Security Branch, Preventive Services, Traffic Inspection, Aviation, Anti-Narcotic Crimes, Istanbul and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen airports, Sea Port branches and district police departments, as well as Special Operations teams participated.
As part of the application, inspections are carried out at land, air and sea transportation points. Suspicious vehicles are stopped and searched, General Information Collection (GBT) checks are carried out for suspicious persons. Police helicopters also support the application where narcotic dogs are used. Police teams warned the drivers and drivers of the vehicles they searched and the passengers about the mask and distance.
Istanbul Police Chief Zafer Aktaş also participated in the practice in Sultangazi. Aktaş, who inspected at 2 points on Atatürk Boulevard and Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Avenue, chatted with the citizens and made short visits to open workplaces.
Aktaş, in his statement to the journalists, stated that they carried out district-based practices in Istanbul yesterday and that they implemented practices at 168 points throughout the city today.
“We have practice together with 1468 personnel, helicopters and detector dogs. This application has been done in two periods. It will continue with shock applications every one hour in the morning. This practice will be regular every day in the morning, evening and later hours. Istanbul is more peaceful and We make every effort to be safe with our friends. We will work on a 24-hour basis. We will be at every scene. Our practices will continue in this way. ”
