The SonntagsBlick points to possible cases of cronyism within the Federal Railways (SBB). In question, the former director of the real estate sector of CFF Jürk Stöckli, left to work for construction companies. Under his leadership between 2010 and 2018, SBB invested more than four billion francs in new real estate projects.

Jürk Stöckli had a major influence on what was built, when, where and to whom the contracts were awarded. After leaving CFF, the former manager was quickly appointed to the board of directors of the railway company.

Those concerned refute any cronyism and favoritism in the newspaper. “Jürg Stöckli’s terms of office on the board did not and do not influence the awarding of SBB contracts,” said a spokesperson for the railway company.
