Switzerland and Liechtenstein had 268 additional cases of coronavirus on Friday in 24 hours, according to figures from the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP). One more death was recorded, bringing the total to 1,716.
The figures for Friday mark an increase compared to those of the day before (234 cases). The number of cases has not dropped below 100 since August 3. And we have to go back to mid-April to find such high figures.
Over the last seven days, the total number of infections is 1317, indicates the daily newsletter of the FOPH. Since the start of the pandemic, 37,671 cases of Covid-19 contamination have been confirmed in the laboratory out of a total of 868,886 tests carried out in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Switzerland has nine more hospitalizations compared to Thursday. The number of people hospitalized since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,415.
The country also counts 1,535 people in isolation and 4,553 individuals among their contacts have been quarantined. There are also 15,928 other people returning from a trip from a country at risk and who also had to go through quarantine.
