Switzerland has 292 new cases of coronavirus

The number of new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours was 292 on Sunday, down from Saturday (376) and Friday (340), according to the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP). No new deaths are to be deplored; the total remains from 1725.

The number of new cases had exceeded 300 the week of August 17-21 for the first time since April 19. Over the last seven days, the total number of infections in Switzerland and Liechtenstein is 1955.

In the last 24 hours, 10,064 tests have been carried out. Since the start of the pandemic, 42,014 cases of Covid-19 contamination have been confirmed in the laboratory.

Switzerland recorded five additional hospitalizations on Sunday compared to the day before. The number of people hospitalized since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,538.

The authorities also count 1,802 people in isolation, while 5,415 individuals who are part of their contacts have been quarantined. In addition, there are 12,191 other people returning from a trip from a country at risk and who also had to go through the quarantine box.
