Donald Trump has done it again: The US president ended a press conference when a journalist persisted with her questions.
The reason was Trump’s statement that he passed the Veterans Choice Act. The law, which is supposed to guarantee medical care to needy US war veterans, goes back to its predecessor Barack Obama. Donald Trump only extends its term.
CBS journalist Paula Reid approached him. And the US President? Thanked the other journalists and left the room.
“Why do you keep saying that you passed Veterans Choice? It was passed in 2014, but it was a false statement sir”

Actually, Trump wanted to talk about a series of decrees that he had signed for further corona aid. However, the Congress has so far been able to focus on no new corona aid package some. It is therefore unclear whether the decrees are valid. Reid asked Trump if he wanted to set a new precedent by deciding on the use of state funds by past Congress.
He responded with a counter-question: “Have you ever heard the word obstruction (German: handicap)?”
Reid: “Yes. You were therefore investigated. ”
Trump, however, who ignored the answer, criticized the Democrats. They would prevent people from getting the money they urgently need.
Reid did not let any other journalist speak
Trump tried to ignore further inquiries from Reid and called on the next journalist to ask a question. But he had no chance. Reid would not be put off and turned to the law for US war veterans.
Trump leaving a press conference is nothing new: In May one ended abruptlyafter CBS correspondent Weijia Jiang asked the president why he insisted on claiming that the US is “doing better than any other country when it comes to testing” on the coronavirus pandemic.
Also a Dispute with CNN reporter Jim Acosta made headlines last year. Trump had ordered the withdrawal of Acosta’s accreditation after a verbal argument with him at a press conference on November 7, 2019. Acosta asked questions about the Russia affair and migrants from Central America.
