The American president dreams of adding his portrait to Mount Rushmore. This is in any case what reveals the New York Times, relayed by BFMTV.com.

As the American media indicates, Donald Trump would have had in mind for several years to add his portrait to this famous monumental sculpture on which appear the most significant presidents in the history of the country such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt or Abraham Lincoln. He even mentioned it during a meeting organized in 2017 in Youngstown, in the state of Ohio.

The US president’s teams have since contacted Kristi Noem, the Republican governor of South Dakota where the monument is located, about the process of adding an additional portrait. Donald Trump had even been received by the governor with a miniature reproduction of Mount Rushmore where his portrait had been added. According to several sources, this initiative had delighted the president.

A meeting which does not seem to have had any consequences. For the moment, neither the White House, nor Kristi Noem, nor Donald Trump have communicated on this subject.
