iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, HTC Desire, LG Optimus Black and Motorola Droid Razr are some phones that will stop working with the application, so users should update your operating system a:

  • Android with operating system 4.0.3 or later.
  • iPhone with iOS 9 or later.
  • Some phone models with KaiOS 2.5.1 or later operating system, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2 devices.

If you have one of these devices, install WhatsApp and register your phone number. WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number and on one device at a time.

There is no way to transfer your chat history between different platforms. However, the app offers the possibility to export your chat history to send it by email as an attachment.
