You don’t expect bills

Many invoices or reminders are a real surprise for us towards the end of the month. The reason: You may already have Ordered something online earlier this monththat must be paid for now.

Our tip:

Avoid purchases on account. Either you can afford the new pair of shoes right now – or you can’t. If you decide to have the money withdrawn directly from your account, there are no unpleasant surprises. Plus: You may save high dunning fees that are due for not paying the invoice.

You don’t have your fixed costs in view

Here an insurance debit, there a mobile phone bill – and the money for the monthly card also regularly migrates from the account. In the back of our minds we have that all fixed amounts at the beginning of the month are debited – and are then always surprised when there are still “late comers” debits.

Our tip:

Take half an hour to check your bank statements for the last few months. Then make an exact list of the fixed costs and the days on which they are charged. In this way you know exactly that the mobile phone bill will only be debited from the account in the last week of the month, and you can still plan in some buffer.

You spend money on unnecessary things

Did you throw too much spoiled food out of the fridge on the weekend? Or have you already had your second cappuccino to go today? Often the money disappears from our wallet as if by magic You take responsibility for every issue!

Our tip:

A list helps with weekly shopping – and please try avoid these supermarket mistakes. The takeaway coffee should be something special, maybe you always treat yourself to it on Wednesdays to celebrate midweek? Or you can follow that Our editor’s diarywho tries to get through the week with 50 euros.
