After an image of the alleged shipwreck of a boat from the Yucatan Ministry of Public Security (SSP) went viral on social networks, the agency filed a complaint for the authorship and dissemination before the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

The agency reported that the person who published a malicious image and text, to the detriment of elements in charge of the new vessels, is fully identified.

So the State Investigative Police (PEI) already integrates the investigation folder to exercise criminal action against him.

As is known, this past Thursday the State Government incorporated into the SSP two new and modern boats – four in total – for the tasks of maritime surveillance and rescue, whose crew is made up of a total of 32 elements of the Coastal Police.

The patrol boats are part of the Yucatan Safe program, they have a radar range of up to 70 miles and infrared cameras with night and thermal vision and their bases will be in Celestún, Progreso and Dzilam de Bravo.
