Crystal Palace was eliminated on penalties (11-10, 0-0 after regulation time) by Bournemouth on Tuesday in the second round of the English League Cup. On loan from Chelsea, Michy Batshuayi played the entire game for Crystal Palace, playing his first minutes since his return.
The penalty shoot-out was interminable: the score was still tied (10-10) while all the players, including the goalkeepers, had shot once, with Batshuayi scoring his team’s second shot. It was ultimately the failure of Luka Milivojevic (ex-Anderlecht) who condemned Crystal Palace. Christian Benteke, injured in the foot, was not present.
Christian Kabasele went up to the break during the qualification of Watford in Oxford (0-3, 1-1 after regulation time). Led after Hall’s goal (26th), Watford equalized one minute from the end by Sema. Oxford then missed his first three shots on goal, for three goals from Watfod.
