Which model will succeed the Peugeot 208 titled in 2020?
The organizers of the election of the Car of the Year 2021, commonly called “Car of the Year”, have just kicked off the 2021 edition by presenting a list of 38 vehicles likely to win this precious title.
To award the title of “Car of the Year”, the 60 people who make up the jury test the vehicles selected in advance. These are evaluated on the basis of various criteria: design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, environmental requirements, driver satisfaction and price.
For a car to be eligible, it must first be totally new. Thus, restyled vehicles are automatically discarded. In addition, they must be marketed in at least five European countries.
You may be surprised by the presence of the new Dacia Sandero or the Hyundai Tucson, two freshly presented models, but this is primarily because these two vehicles will join dealerships before the end of the year.
The list will be refined for the first time in mid-November and that’s when the votes will begin. The journalists who make up the jury will choose the seven finalist models before December 7, 2020. Subsequently, a new vote will decide between these seven finalists and the name of the 2021 winner will be announced on 1is mars 2021. Previously the winner was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show of that same year, but due to lack of a show in 2021, this will not be the case.
