AT looking for a new profile to strengthen his midfielder, Mouscron has still not found the gem. Given the strengths already present within the squad, it seems that the Hurlus need to recruit a creative player, able to animate the game of the team. This is why a Walfoot editor took the opportunity to slip into the skin of the recruitment unit of the Walloon club, and therefore chose to propose five recruitment ideas for Mouscron.

The slopes n ° 1: Jari Vandeputte (24 ans / LR Vicenza)

Trained in La Gantoise, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has never managed to win in Belgium. After only seven games played with the Buffalos and a season in D1B with Roeselare (21 games), the former Belgian international hopeful had joined FC Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Today, he plays in Serie B (Italian second division) on the side of Vicenza, with whom he comes out of a successful 2019/2020 exercise on a personal level (27 games, 2 goals, 10 assists). If he extended his contract with the Italian club on July 24, the latter may not oppose his departure in the event of a convincing offer, the formation having sold only one player over the last two seasons. , according to the data available on Transfermarkt.

The player to be restarted: Alen Halilovic (24 / AC Milan)

Trained in Zagreb and then recruited very early by FC Barcelona, Alen Halilovic was presented as a crack from an early age. However, after several failed loans and an unsuccessful experience on the Hamburg side, the coast of the Croatian midfielder plummeted. Today at AC Milan, the former Masia player no longer seems to have the slightest chance of winning under the colors of the Rossonneri. With his contract in Italy coming to an end next June, it shouldn’t be hard to convince the Lombard club to let him go, even for a pittance. An opportunity to be seized for Mouscron who could try to revive a former great hope of world football. Especially since his 2019/2020 year on the side of Heerenveen in the Netherlands turned out to be rather encouraging (26 games, 3 goals, 5 assists).

Free player: Arnaud Lusamba (23 years old / Without club)

Free from any contract since the end of his adventure at OGC Nice, Arnaud Lusamba has still not found a new base to breathe new life into his career. However, the former French international hope (35 capes) is not devoid of talent. Already passed through Belgium, he had achieved a decent 2018/2019 exercise on loan to the Cercle de Bruges (25 games played). A return to the Pro League on the side of Mouscron could undoubtedly allow him to best express his qualities. Above all, this would be a lower cost solution since Excel can hire the 23-year-old without paying any transfer fees.

The nugget: Othman Boussaid (20 years old / FC Utrecht)

Trained at Lierse, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder has changed very little in Belgium since he joined the Netherlands at the age of 18. Loaned to the Dutch second division to NAC Breda in 2019/2020, the Belgian-Moroccan had an interesting season (26 games, 1 goals, 7 assists). Back from loan at Utrecht, he might not stay long with the Eredivisie club where competition is tough in the midfield. Above all, the fact that his contract will come to an end next June should give Mouscron a position of strength if the club wish to negotiate his transfer.

The risky bet: Farès Bahlouli (25 years old / Without club)

Trained at Olympique Lyonnais and then transferred to AS Monaco when he was only 20 years old, Farès Bahlouli was presented as a hope of French football when he arrived on the Rock, but he ultimately never justified the expectations placed on him. After several unsuccessful recovery attempts, including one at Standard between August 2016 and January 2017 where he did not play a single minute of play, the attacking midfielder is at its lowest. As proof, he spent the last six months at AS Lyon-Duchère in National (French third division) without convincing the Rhone club to extend it this summer. Even if he is free from any contract, his arrival would raise several questions. But if he manages to regain his best level, and the elimination ability that made his reputation, it could be a nice surprise.

Here are five avenues that, according to our editor, would undoubtedly deserve to be studied on the side of Excel. However, as specified previously, this is not transfer information. To our knowledge, none of these players have been cited on the Hurlus side so far.
