In France, the coronavirus epidemic does not slow down: Wednesday’s 9800 cases suggest a new government crackdown in the most affected areas. After Lille, Marseille and Bordeaux, it could be Lyon, where half of the intensive care beds are already occupied and the youngest patient is 36 years old.

Specific measures will be decided by the prefects. More will be known on Thursday when the health minister, Olivier Véran, will speak.

The government wants to do everything possible to avoid a new total closure of the country, but it cannot ignore a situation that is becoming increasingly delicate. With 31 thousand victims, France has almost reached the figures of Italy. In the last week, 2,700 patients have been hospitalized and 479 entered intensive care. A context further threatened by the reopening of schools and universities.

“Elettra”: video of the new single from Cortellino, an indie from Trieste
Rome, 16 Sept. (askanews) – Here is the videoclip of Cortellino, the indie singer-songwriter from Trieste, of the single to be released on September 18th “Elettra”. A piece with multiple inspirations: the first and fundamental is Elettra, the light machine conceived by the quantum physicist Luciano Fonda: the idea of the light machine was the stimulus that ignited the author’s imagination, like a light bulb; the second is the sea, a dimension that has always accompanied Cortellino since its city, Trieste, overlooks the Adriatic. The sea becomes a mirror in which man reflects himself and becomes a metaphor for self-exploration. As the author says about the song: “I was walking in the woods near Basovizza, in the province of Trieste, where the Elettra machine and the Elettra Sincrotone Trieste research institute are located, and this song appeared in my mind”. The official video clip was made in collaboration with the Ugandan Namuwongo Village Kampala and the Ugandan performer Kyxkajiiko.

Maserati MC20, a new supercar for the relaunch of the Trident?
Undeniably sporty, but for some it is too little Maserati. The feelings and comments of the network, but also that of our editorial staff. “Low. Wide. Muscular. What more could you ask for from Maserati in charge of relaunching the Trident? Well, there seems to be something: a stronger link with the tradition of the brand. It is not us who say it, but the many fans who, as always, have gone wild on social media. And be careful: we did not take as a model the comments of the haters, always very ready to shoot against everything and everyone, but we have selected those that in our opinion are the most argued and balanced positions.”

Already 81 schools closed

Just two weeks into the school year, the education minister announced the closure of 81 schools for new coronavirus cases. Jean Michel Blanquier tried to give reassurance, saying that this is a minimal number compared to the 60 thousand institutions that remain open in the country. And the authorities argue that precisely this is a sign of the attention being paid to controlling the epidemic. As soon as there are cases, the school is closed.

But concerns remain about how the government is addressing the problem. According to a recent poll, 62% of French people think the government should do more.
