KIEV, Sept 30 (Reuters) – Ukraine’s grain exports fell 11.2% in the first three months of the 2020/21 season – which runs from July to June – to 11.78 million tonnes, it reported on Wednesday. the Ministry of Economy.
That volume includes 4.258 million tons of grains exported in September, according to ministry data, which showed that 8.2 million tons of wheat, 2.9 million tons of barley and 631,000 tons of corn were sold abroad. .
In the 2019/20 season, Ukraine exported 57.2 million tons of grain. The Government expects sales abroad to fall to 47.4 million tons this season due to a lower harvest.
The Ministry of the Economy projects that the grain harvest in 2020 fell to about 68 million tons from a record 75.1 million tons last year due to adverse weather conditions.
