This Sunday, September 20, Zendaya made history by becoming the youngest star to win the trophy for best actress in a dramatic series. And for the occasion, the beautiful brunette wore an elegant polka dot dress signed Armani Privé, however her stylist Law Roach admitted that this set was initially intended for the Golden Globes ceremony.
She shared with Vogue: “In the end she didn’t make it to the Golden Globes so this dress was waiting for its big moment, and what a moment it was! Everything worked out; the skirt, the top, the earrings to match the peas, it was all there. ”
So it was in this gorgeous dress that Zendaya delivered a poignant speech to the camera this Sunday night, stating:
“I just want to thank the academy. And to all the women in this category, I admire you so much. It’s really crazy, I’m not the usual crying type. Thanks to HBO and A24 for your support, thank you to my family and my team who are behind me today, thank you to the amazing team at ‘Euphoria’, i am so lucky to be able to work with you every day and i am inspired by everything you do. to Sam Levinson (the creator of the series, editor’s note), I adore you so much, you are part of my family. I am so grateful that you trusted me with the character of Rue, I hope to continue to surrender proud.”
Referring to the coronavirus pandemic and the political climate, the star added:
“I know it’s not really the time to celebrate anything, but young people give us hope. And I just want to say to all those who work hard and protest in the streets, I see you, I admire you, thank you, and … thank you, thank you very much. ”
