On the occasion of European Heritage Days and until mid-October, the Pierre Frey house unveils its virtual museum. Welcome to the Paris of 1900 to discover Art Nouveau. Visit.
It’s a first. On the occasion of European Heritage Days, the Pierre Frey house opens the doors of its archives to us. Good news, to enjoy it, no need to travel. Make yourself comfortable in front of your computer to discover the gems of Art Nouveau. Indeed, the house unveils a first immersive exhibition, entitled “Paris 1900, the Art Nouveau style, little-known wealth of the Pierre Frey heritage”. It highlights, among other things, the know-how of the houses Braquenié and Le Manach, acquired respectively in 1991 and 2014 by the publisher of fabrics, wallpapers, rugs and furniture. Houses famous for their printed cottons, woven rugs or silks.
A virtual exhibition
During this virtual visit, we discover no less than forty-three works that immerse us in a Paris of another century, that of the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and Hector Guimard. Carpet projects, fabrics, photos, fabric samples with prints inspired by nature or geometric, are exhibited on the white walls of this imaginary museum. All you have to do is let yourself be guided by skilfully handling the arrows on our keyboard to navigate between the works and let yourself be carried away by the guided tour, so as not to miss anything. All enriched with explanations and historical anecdotes.
A colorful and floral journey that continues to inspire publishers and designers today.
