The president of the constitutional Court (TC), Juan José González Rivas, has excused his attendance at the dispatch ceremony to the new judges at the Judicial School this Friday in Barcelona, which was initially confirmed, alleging scheduling problems, sources from this body have told Europa Press.

The absence was communicated last Wednesday by Gonzalez Rivas to the host of the event, the president of the General Council of the Judicial Power (CGPJ) and the Supreme Court, Carlos Lesmes. The president of the TC alleges that since he had a commitment for this Friday with the XIII Ibero-American Conference on Constitutional Justice, which he attends electronically.

The announcement occurs in full controversy over the exclusion of King Felipe VI from this act, which has caused a deep malaise in the legal field that will be evidenced during his speech by Lesmes, as agreed by the Permanent Commission of this body by a majority of five to three votes.
