The LHC lost 3-1 in Zurich. The Zurichois made the difference at the start of the third period.

Lausanne has long stood up to the ZSC Lions on Tuesday evening at the Hallenstadion. But the Vaudois finally cracked in the third period, conceding two goals in the space of 172 seconds (44th and 46th).

Before taking a nosedive, the Vaudois were a real headache for the people of Zurich. The LHC thus opened the scoring in the first period thanks to Etienne Froidevaux (14th, 0-1). The ex-captain – whom the LHC wants to get rid of – exploited a good job from Floran Douay before beating goalkeeper Ludovic Waeber.

The LHC has not exploited its highlights

The Lausanne residents took the upper hand in the second period. But paradoxically, it was when they had their best phases that the Zurichers, yet in their small skates at this moment of the evening, found a way to equalize by Chris Baltisberger with a deflection following a shot from the captain. Patrick Geering (26th, 1-1).

The Zurichois finally made the difference in the third period: a brilliant pass from Sven Andrighetto allowed Garrett Roe to go and challenge Tobias Stephan alone (44th, 2-1), before defender Christian Marti left to board for give his team a decisive two-goal lead (46th, 3-1).

On Friday, the LHC will travel to Zug before receiving FR Gottéron the next day.
