Without a doubt, with Thank U, Next, published in 2019, Ariana Grande took a remarkable leap in quality and a decisive step in consolidating her path to artistic maturity. But, apparently, the American singer does not want to know anything about resting on her laurels, and has just announced the launch of a new album.
The striking thing is that it is not a long-term project, but rather that the artist set the remainder of this month of October as the deadline for the publication of the new material, of which no details of the title, cover or songs are known that it will contain.
“I can’t wait to give you my album this month,” the singer wrote on Twitter without giving further explanation, and raising the alert in the huge legion of almost 78 million followers around the world that you have on the bird’s social network. A number that almost triples on Instagram, where he also posted the short text.
The author of 7 rings has been throwing out disjointed clues that he was working on a project that he has sometimes referred to as AG6, after uploading photographs in which it appears with his regular producer, Tommy Brown, and post other snapshots working on “mixes” for new songs.
Even in spring, in full quarantine due to the pandemic, advanced small fragments of songs throught social media. The posts related to her artistic activity appear interspersed with the strong campaign that the singer carries out in order that the people of the United States, and especially in the Florida Peninsula, do not stop going to vote in the next presidential elections of your country, which will take place on November 3.
Grande had an active participation throughout the current US presidential campaign, first showing close proximity to Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, and then expressing his outright criticism of the policies implemented by Donald Trump. Further, visibly supported the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
While the last album released so far by Grande, Thank U, Next, was released in February 2019, this last year the artist has published collaborations with other artists such as the hit Rain On Me, with Lady Gaga, and Stuck with U, along with Justin Bieber.
This album just announced by the artist, 27, would be the sixth released since its debut in 2013, with Yours Truly, at which point he developed a career in which he practically advanced at a “cruising” speed of one disc per year.
With the latter, Grande established herself as one of the main voices of current pop by receiving the Grammy nomination for record of the year and the best recording for the simple 7 Rings, in addition to appearing on the lists of the best jobs of the year for the specialized press.
A year earlier, its predecessor Sweetener had won the Grammy for Best Pop Album and his single God Is a Woman it had been a candidate for best pop song.
If released in the coming weeks, it would be the second album released by a pop diva by surprise in 2020, as Taylor Swift published his acclaimed Folklore with just days’ notice and shortly after his exit to the street he became the best selling album of the year.
