BBC Studios has just revealed that two new video games around the Doctor Who universe will be released in spring 2021. These two new titles are Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality, planned for PC and consoles, while Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassin will be available on mobiles and Switch.
The first should capitulate on Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, a VR adventure released last year. The story will pick up where it left off and offer new locations to explore as well as new puzzles, new challenges and unique gameplay. The Lonely Assassin, meanwhile, is being developed by Kaigan Games, a Malaysian studio, and “will push the boundaries of mobile storytelling.”
Kevin Jorge, Senior Producer – Games & Interactive, BBC Studios explained, “The Edge of Reality and The Lonely Assassin bring the Doctor Who universe to consoles and mobiles in their own ways. Save the universe with the Thirteenth and Tenth Doctor, put the Weeping Angels back in the spotlight. A big year is coming, and we can’t wait to reveal more! ”
Edge of Reality will be released on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox in Spring 2021 and The Lonely Assassin will be released on Android, iOS, and Switch in Spring 2021 as well.
