After the revelation of the M3 and M4, then, a few days later, the 4 Series Convertible, BMW is preparing to put the spotlight on the M4 Cabriolet. While waiting to discover it, our photographers came face to face with one of the prototypes.

This convertible may be camouflaged, it can not hide anything from us because we have already seen the M4 Coupé and the 4 Series Cabriolet. The BMW M4 Cabriolet is a mixture of the two, that is to say, a BMW M4 which has been removed from the roof. Everything is there, starting with the manufacturer’s new grille, the quadruple tailpipe, the widening of the body, etc.

Like the Coupé, this BMW M4 Cabriolet will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo in-line six cylinder engine. This engine can develop 480 hp, but in France, sonly the 510 hp version will be marketed. This is the BMW M4 Competition Cabriolet which can also be equipped with an M xDrive all-wheel drive.

The cabriolet will have the same technical sheet as the coupe and will display the same performance (or almost). Thus, the BMW M4 Competition Cabriolet should achieve the exercise from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 4.0 seconds. As for the top speed, it would be limited to 250 km / h, but as an option, it could be unbridled to reach 290 km / h.

The coupe is sold for 104,550 euros in France. The BMW M4 Competition Cabriolet is expected to cost a few thousand euros more. However, we must not forget that starting next year, the ecological penalty will drop from 20,000 to 40,000 euros for the most polluting cars (which is the case with this model). So, to get back behind the wheel of the discoverable sports car, you’ll have to spend nearly 150,000 euros excluding options …
