RIO – A capital and fifteen more municipalities in the Rio de Janeiro resumed this Monday, 19, the face-to-face classes for the classes of the 3rd series of High School, in regular, technical and Youth and Adult Education (EJA – Phase IV).

According to the state government, in the rest of the municipalities the pedagogical activities will be exclusively remote, by decision of the city halls or because of the orange contagion classification, as is the case of the Center-South Fluminense Region. The State of Rio has the second highest number of deaths from covid-19 in the country, with 19,715 deaths until this Saturday, 17.

According to the statement, even without face-to-face classes, all schools in the network will remain open for students to remove didactic material, in addition to the food kit.

THE classroom return is expected to take place in 416 state schools. Together, these units add up 63 thousand students.

The municipalities that joined the flexibilization are: Carapebus, Casimiro de Abreu, Duque de Caxias, Italva, Itatiaia, Macaé, Mesquita, Miracema, Natividade, Nilópolis, Niterói, Piraí, Rio de Janeiro, São Francisco de Itabapoana, São Pedro da Aldeia and Seropedic.

In the municipalities that are going to return, 24 schools will not resume face-to-face classes with the others, since their management teams have declared they are part of the covid-19 risk group. Throughout the week, the Department of Education will provide an administrative solution for resuming activities.
