We told you last July: Conchata Ferrell, 77, who played housekeeper Berta in the comedy “My Uncle Charlie” alongside Charlie Sheen, was not doing well. The actress had been hospitalized since December following a kidney infection. In a “stable and semi-conscious” state, she could not speak. She had another cardiac arrest 4 weeks ago. Since then her condition has deteriorated sharply and the actress has died surrounded by her family and her husband, Arnie Anderson, who had shared her life since the early 1980s.
His former colleagues from the “My Uncle Charlie” series have paid tribute to him, including lead actor Charlie Sheen. He took to social media to tip his hat to the “real pro” Conchata, with whom he worked for many years.
“An absolute sweetheart, a true pro, a true friend, a shocking and painful loss. Berta, your housekeeping was a bit suspect, your ‘personal’ was perfect”, wrote the actor on Twitter.
Actor Adam Sandler also paid tribute to the actress by writing on social media, “RIP. Great lady. We will miss you terribly. Sorry for her family.”
