The cases positive of coronavirus in the Valencian Community have grown 60.8% in one week, while the number of hospitalized has increased by 40.9 percent and the number admitted to the ICU by 48.8%.
Between Friday, October 16 and Friday, October 23, a total of 5,307 new infections, when last week the number of new cases was 3,300, which represents an increase of 60.8%.
The daily average of new cases this week stood at 758 cases, above the 471 cases a day a week before, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Health.
The week closes with a total of 41 deaths from covid-19, when the previous week there were 35 deaths; with 838 hospitalized, compared to 577 a week earlier (261 more and an increase of 40.9%) and with 123 patients in intensive care units, 39 more and an increase of 48.8%.
Daily average of 487 discharges
In this period, 3,406 people have been discharged, with a daily average of 487 discharges, when the previous week there was an average of 446 discharges, which represents a 9.2% increase.
If compared to the data for Spain, the weekly increase in cases in the whole of Spain has been 6.95% higher than that produced in the Valencian Community.
The cumulative incidence in the last seven days in Spain is 191.11 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants, and the Valencian Community is 79.84, that is, 2.39 times lower than that of Spain and the second lowest of all the communities, only behind the Canary Islands.
If the cumulative incidence in the last 14 days is compared, in Spain it has been 361.66 cases, and in the Valencian Community 153.16, which is 2.36 times lower than that of Spain and the third lowest of the autonomies, behind the Balearic and Canary Islands.
The fatality rate in the Valencian Community (percentage of deaths out of the total confirmed cases) is 2.77% and that of the whole of Spain is 3.32, therefore 19.9% higher than that of the Community Valencian.
The percentage of beds occupied by covid in the Valencian Community is 7.62%, and in the whole of Spain it is 12.11%, that is, 58.9% more occupancy than in this region, according to the data of the Ministry of Health.
Finally, the percentage of occupied ICU beds by covid in the Valencian Community is 12.97%, and in Spain as a whole it is 22.48%, which is 73.3% more than here.
