According to a study published by the Journal of Environmental Psychology, people usually associate the christmas decorations with feelings of nostalgia and emotion of his childhood.

The psychoanalyst, Steve McKeown, who has studied this effect, said in an interview to an international medium: “Although there may be a number of symptomatic reasons why a person prefers to obsessively put decorations ahead of time, it is commonly because nostalgic reasons, either to revive magic and to make up for a past of neglect. ”

And it is that, in a world full of stress and anxiety, people prefer to associate with things that make them happy, and Christmas decorations evoke strong feelings of nostalgia.

The nostalgia associated with Christmas decorations reminds us of a self from the past with no responsibilities. And, in our current stressful lives, there are few opportunities to relive those feelings.

Along with this, memories associated with Christmas can often include people who they are no longer with us.

“It can be a bittersweet feeling. Maybe the holidays serve as a reminder of when a loved one was still alive. Or maybe looking at a Christmas tree reminds you of what your life was like when still believed in santa“McKeown concluded.

So if you were wondering when is it time to start decorating, the answer is: NOW.
