With the protocol signed between the local government and an association in the district of Bandırma in Balıkesir, chickpeas and beans will be planted on 662 decares of vacant land belonging to the municipality. The harvest will be packed by the municipality and distributed to low-income families free of charge.
Bandırma Municipality leased 662 decares of land, which was included in its own body with the Metropolitan Law, to Doğa Mahallesi Beautification and Sustenance Association for 1 year in return for 12 tons of chickpeas per ram and 6 tons of rooster beans. Farmers in Doğa Mahallesi will plant the land rented out within the scope of the “Rural Development Joint Service Project”. Doğa Mahallesi Beautification and Sustenance Association will provide 12 tons of chickpeas and 6 tons of beans to Bandırma Municipality from the year-end harvest. Bandırma Municipality will pack these products and distribute them to people in need free of charge.
Protocol signed in the field
The protocol signing ceremony was held in the field where the crops will be planted, with the participation of Doğa Neighborhood Beautification and Sustenance Association Presidency and Doğa Neighborhood Headman Mustafa Pınar and Bandırma Mayor Tolga Tosun. Doğa Mahallesi Muhtar and Association President Mustafa Pınar stated that this project of Bandırma Municipality is a good project for Doğa Mahallesi and thanked Mayor Tolga Tosun.
Mayor of Bandırma Tolga Tosun stated that they made great efforts to increase the income of the Municipality during the pandemic process, “Bandırma is located in a very beautiful geography. We have the sea in front of us, the lake behind us, and the natural beauty of Kapıdağ next to us. Bandırma with its livestock, industry and agriculture. It is a city that is the locomotive of the South Marmara. We have produced this project together at the point of utilizing our lands which are included in our municipality with the Metropolitan Law. The residents of the neighborhood will work and produce this vast land that we rent to the locals. We will pack these products as the municipality and distribute them to the needy free of charge. We implement the rural development joint service project with the permit of the relevant laws, regulations and the District Governorship. We will develop the wheat cultivation project in our other lands with the same method. “It will be distributed free of charge.”
