PARIS, Oct 14 (Reuters) – FranceAgriMer agricultural bureau on Wednesday raised its forecast for France’s soft wheat exports outside the European Union to 6.7 million tonnes in the 2020/21 season, from 6.6 million tonnes. tons projected last month.
Despite the improvement, the figure is still 50% below the record of 13.46 million tons calculated for wheat exports for the 2019/2020 cycle, according to FranceAgriMer data on grain supply and demand .
Like other consultancies in the sector, FranceAgriMer has been anticipating a sharp drop in cereal exports in 2020/21 compared to the previous cycle, after French wheat production fell by around 25% during this quarter due to adverse conditions of the weather.
