Former Roma star Francesco Totti is in mourning. His father, Enzo, nicknamed the “sheriff”, died this Monday of coronavirus at the age of 76 at Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital.
The father of Italian legend leaves behind his wife Fiorella and son Riccardo, as well as Francesco.
The Roma club paid tribute to the “Sheriff” on social media after the announcement of his death. He tweeted: “Goodbye Enzo. Our thoughts go to Fiorella, Francesco, Riccardo and the whole family.”
Enzo was considered to be at risk for the coronavirus after suffering a heart attack a few years ago.
During his son’s 25-year career in Rome, Enzo would go to the stadium every day, and even to training sessions to offer players a pizza with mortadella as a snack, reveal Corriere dello Sport.
Recently, Enzo had confided to devote his life to his grandchildren, Cristian, Chanel and Isabel.
