MEXICO CITY, Oct 14 (Reuters) – The CEO of Mexico’s state-owned Pemex said Wednesday in an appearance before lawmakers that opening the gasoline retail business to private companies in recent years has had no benefits for the country.

Under the administration of former President Enrique Peña Nieto, the Latin American country carried out an ambitious energy reform in 2013 that has been strongly criticized by the current president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
