How was the Hotel Rochechouart born?
Firm: “We met Louis and Anouk Solanet two years ago in the brasserie of the Rochechouart hotel. We immediately fell in love with this place steeped in history. More than a visual project, it is a general atmosphere that imposed itself on us, and that we wanted to transpose into the place. ”
What was the inspiration?
“The main inspiration was the building. The story of the turn of the century that he has seen unfold. We wanted to restore this grand hotel to its period beauty by restoring its moldings, floors and volumes, and infusing it with a touch of contemporary spirit. ”
How to describe the atmosphere of the Hotel Rochechouart?
“This is a great traveler hotel. He jumps back in time without pulling towards the pastiche. It is cozy, timeless and festive. ”
What are its materials and colors?
“Waxed wood, wood burl, plaster and deep, almost faded colors (ocher yellow, bronze green, faded white, terracota). Black too, very present in Art Deco. And also straw! Decor painted by Pauline Leyravaud (false marble, and false alabaster) and staff moldings… ”
