HONG KONG, Oct 13 (Reuters) – The Hong Kong stock exchange suspended trading on securities and derivatives markets on Tuesday due to Typhoon Nangka. (www.hkex.com.hk)

The city’s meteorological observatory said it expected storm signal No. 8, the third-strongest in the system, to hold for most of the afternoon.

Schools in the financial center were closed and some transportation operations were suspended.
