During the afternoon of this day, Delta, already in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, weakened to a category 1 hurricane. At 4:00 p.m., Central Mexico time, its center was located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Progreso, and 100 kilometers northwest of Dzilam, localities of Yucatán.
It has maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour, gusts of 165 kilometers and displacement to the northwest at 28 kilometers, reported in the 4:00 p.m. report.
He indicated that the forecasting models indicate that in the next few hours it will continue its movement towards the northwest, gradually moving away from the Yucatan Peninsula. However, its cloud bands will cause intense rains in Campeche, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Yucatán, and very strong in Chiapas.
