According to the OFS, the number of hybrid passenger cars put into circulation for the first time rose 104% in September.
While the entry into service of road vehicles continued to decline in September compared to the same month last year, registrations of electric (+ 83%) and above all hybrid (+ 104%) passenger cars are on the rise. times against the grain, reports the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) in a press release published on Tuesday.
In September, 29,486 road vehicles were put into circulation for the first time in total, which corresponds to a drop of 4% compared to September 2019. For passenger cars overall, the drop even reaches 11%, marked in particular by the plunge in gasoline (-35%) and diesel (-21%) traction, while electrics and hybrids are doing wonderfully.
For cars in general, the decline has been chronic for years. In January, before confinement, the OFS announced a 10% decrease in new releases.
