John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen confided two weeks ago that she had miscarried her third child. On stage, during the Billboard Music Awards, the singer paid him a vibrant tribute.
Two weeks after his wife’s miscarriage, John Legend paid her a moving tribute on stage. At the Billboard Music Awards, the singer performed his song “Never Break” which he dedicated to Chrissy Teigen. This song is about “a strong couple who never lose their way when life is difficult“.
His performance was widely praised online although no one was able to attend the show in the public because of the coronavirus. Before starting the first lines of the song, he says: “It’s for Chrissy.“He then posted his performance on his Instagram account:”I love and cherish you and our family so much. We have had the highest and the lowest together. Seeing you carrying our children has been so moving and a lesson in humility. I am in awe of the strength you have shown in the most difficult times. It is an extraordinary gift to be able to bring life to the world. We have experienced the miracle, the power and the joy of this gift, and now we have deeply felt its inherent fragility. I wrote this song because I have faith that as long as we walk this earth, we will hold hands through every tear, every rise and fall, every trial.”
Messages of support for the singer’s family have multiplied since the very harsh images posted by Chrissy Teigen after her miscarriage. She had wanted to share these difficult moments on Instagram to help him mourn: “We are in shock and in pain, the one we hear about, the one we have never felt before. We were never able to stop my bleeding and give the baby what he needed despite the bags and bags from the blood transfusion. It just wasn’t enough“she wrote.
