LOS ANGELES (AP) – Danny Muskovski scored twice and Uruguayan midfielder Francisco Ginella added a goal for Los Angeles FC to defeat the Seattle Sounders 3-1 on Sunday.
Musovski opened the scoring with a header to put the hosts up 1-0 in the 15th minute.
Ginella extended the lead to two goals in the 65th minute. His compatriot Nicolás Lodeiro discounted for the Sounders at 77, but Muskovski sealed the victory at 84.
LAFC has won three of its last four games, while Seattle saw the end of its three-game winning streak.
Later, Jamiro Monteiro and Brazilian forward Sergio Santos scored within a nine-minute span to give the Philadelphia Union a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Impact.
Monteiro received a well-placed pass from Brazilian midfielder Ilsinho down the right wing and barely beat the keeper with a shot to the post near 39 minutes. Santos – also on a pass from his compatriot Ilsinho – controlled a cross pass to extend the lead.
Amar Sejdic put Montreal on the scoreboard at 65.
While in Kansas City, Gerso Fernandes and Erik Hurtado scored in local Sporting’s comeback in a 2-1 win over Nashville SC.
Kansas City added its third consecutive victory.
In other results, the New England Revolution beat NYCFC 2-1, the same score that the Chicago Fire took the victory over DC United; Toronto FC defeated Cincinnati 1-0.
Later, Jaroslaw Niezgoda scored twice and the Portland Timbers won their fifth straight game with a 3-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.
Felipe Mora also scored for Portland, which is tied at 30 points with current champs, the Seattle Sounders, atop the Western Conference.
