In the men’s singles final of the French Open (Roland Garros) tennis tournament, Serbian Novak Djokovic and Spaniard Rafael Nadal will face off.
In the semi-finals of the last grand slam tournament of the season held in the capital Paris, the champion of the year 2016, world number 1 Serbian Novak Djokovic and 5th seeded Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas played on the court.
Djokovic got his name in the final after 4 years in the tournament by winning 3-2 with sets 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6 and 6-1 from the 3 hours and 54 minutes.
Tsitsipas, who managed to make the match 2-0 behind, failed to resist Djokovic’s effective play in the fifth set and could not take the chance to make it to the first grand slam final of his career.
Nadal made it to the finals without set
In the other semi-final match of the day, world number 2 Spanish Rafael Nadal, who had 12 French Open championships including the last 3 years in his career, and 12 seeded Argentine Diego Schwartzman met.
At the end of three hours and 9 minutes, Nadal beat his opponent 3-0 with sets of 6-3, 6-3 and 7-6 and reached the finals for the 13th time in the tournament, and achieved a significant success by coming without a set until the final.
The men’s singles final between Djokovic and Nadal will be played on Sunday, October 11th.
The champion in women will be determined tomorrow
The only women’s champion of the French Open will be determined with the final game played tomorrow.
This year at the Australian Open, the 4th seeded USA’s Sofia Kenin, who reached the first grand slam title of her career, and the world 54th Polish Iga Swiatek, who reached the grand slam final for the first time in her career, will compete for the cup.
